His exposure to internet, new-media and technology dates back to the 1990’s, when the internet was text-only and none of your friends had an email address. He holds several certifications in IT Management and Information Security, and has recently started a laboratory where cool web technologies are researched and put to good use for retail applications and beyond. The IoT initiative took shape in 2015, with several practical applications already being tested within Cărturești and for several other external projects.

Vit is leading European M2M/IoT and Big Data marketing related activities at Deutsche Telekom since December 2012. His team is working closely together with Telekom Group Innovation units as well as with local marketing and sales teams focusing on full 4P mix. Vit is taking active role in promoting Internet of Things and Big Data on various forums and blogs. Since 2015 he is also involved in start up mentoring like the IoT innovation contest ChallengeUp! organized by Telekom, Cisco and Intel. Before joining Telekom’s headquarters in Bonn in 2012 Vit has gained broad experience in the telecommunications, ICT and banking/payment business. He spend 7 years in Prague at T-Mobile Czech in various positions as head of B2B product management and New business development teams.

Vit is absolvent of Prague’s University of Economics. He graduated at the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics. His second specialization was Political science.

Eduard is 45 years old and he has graduated the Transylvania University Brasov, the Faculty of Road Vehicles. He is also licensed as a Psychologist, after having graduated from the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Psychology and Science of Education.
In the last 10 years he has worked as a Product Manager for electrical power products solutions for different companies, and from 2007 he joined the APC by Schneider Electric team as a System Engineer.
Now at APC by Schneider Electric he is focused on Infrastructure systems for medium and large Data Centers and technical consultancy for all APC and Schneider Electric products with regional coverage. Eduard is certified as an Accredited Tier Specialist by the Uptime Institute.

Stefan is Professor at the Computer Science Department of the University “Politehnica” Bucharest (UPB), and principal researcher at the Institute of Artificial Intelligence of the Romanian Academy (RACAI). He was a Fulbright Visitor Scholar post-doc at Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA, was invited professor and lectured in USA, Netherlands, France, Germany, San Marino, Puerto Rico, etc. His research interests are at the confluence of Social Web, Artificial Intelligence, Discourse Analysis, Knowledge Construction, Education, Philosophy, and Music. He introduced the Polyphonic Model and Analysis Methodology for collaboration, learning and creativity, based on the idea that these activities have essential common points with the polyphonic music.
Stefan is the Head of the K-Teams Colaborative Knowledge Construction Laboratory in UPB, was the Deputy Director of RACAI, and conducted of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory of the National Informatics Research Institute in Romania. He was the Director of research projects for the Romanian part in international European Union funded research projects (PEKADS, LarFLaST, IKF, Inf3S, SkyNurse, LTfLL), participated in others (NSF-VMT, PAIL, EU-NCIT, COOPER, ERRIC, TOWNTOLOGY, MUMIA, Republic of Letters, RAGE, etc.) and coordinated many national ones. He is Vicepresident of the Romanian Chapter of ACM SIGCHI and member of the Romanian Scientists Academy. He chaired international conferences and participated to the program or organizing committee of many others. Prof Trausan-Matu has authored or edited 19 books, authored 40 book chapters and more than 300 peer-reviewed papers.

Yugo Neumorni is the IT Director of Hidroelectrica, the Romanian power generation leader and the major supplier of ancillary services required in the Romanian National Energy System. 10 years he was the Head of IT for Vimetco, the largest aluminum producer from South Eastern Europe, an integrated aluminum company present in Europe, China and West Africa. He was responsible for rebuilding the IT business function for Vimetco (Europe and Africa firms). He has more than 22 years of experience in the IT industry. Previously, he was IT Manager of Deloitte & Touche Central Europe.

He is CISA certified since 2001 and he is specialized in IT strategic planning, IT governance, IT security, COBIT, IT audit and control.

Yugo is the President and Co-Founder of CIO Council Romania. He is also a Board member of ISACA Romania as former President between 2007 and 2011.

He has a Computer Science degree in Polytechnic University in Bucharest since 1995 and he graduated an EMBA program with Asebuss (Romania) and Kennesaw State University (USA).

Laurentiu Popescu joined IDC in October 2001. As a country manager, he oversees IDC’s operations and research in Romania.
Prior to joining IDC, Laurentiu worked as a research analyst with the Middle East Marketing Research Bureau, a Cypriot marketing research company based in Nicosia. He was also a consultant with Greek business consulting firm IEBA, International Economics and Business Advisors.
Laurentiu holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the Bucharest Academy of Economic Sciences and a Master’s of Science in Decision Sciences from the Athens University of Economics and Business.

Milan-Kalal

Milan Kalal leads the Internet of Things (IoT) research practice for IDC across Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa (CEMA).
Kalal manages research and consulting projects examining IoT use cases and adoption across the CEMA region. His research on both IoT end users and the vast ecosystem of technology vendors examines market developments, quantifies the market opportunity, and provides unique insight addressing industry-specific drivers for IoT, vendor strategies, and end-user trends that affect IoT adoption dynamics across the region. Together with IDC’s regional analysts, he works to size and forecast the IoT revenue opportunity and installed base within this burgeoning market.
In addition to IoT, Kalal works with the IDC Energy Insights and Vertical Markets teams, managing quantitative research, IT spending forecast models, and consulting engagements across Central and Eastern Europe. Focusing on vertical-market behavior, the cross-technology nature of his position has enabled him to develop a balanced understanding of the hardware, software, and IT services markets.
Prior to joining IDC in 2009, Kalal worked for eight years as a consultant and project manager in the finance sector, specializing in strategic marketing. He has experience implementing customer insight strategies and tools, including CRM, data mining, geo-marketing, and competitive intelligence.
Kalal holds an MBA from Sheffield Hallam University in the U.K., and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Anglo-American College in Prague, Czech Republic.
